Tomorrow opening of 19 edition of Mondiali Antirazzisti

Kick start is on thursday July 2nd at 3 PM and from that moment will start non stop matches, without referee, with mixed teams composed by migrants, ultras, boys and girls form many Italian and foreign towns. On Saturday July 4th are foreseen final stage and in the evening the final party.

More than 200 teams will play: 170 football teams and 60 among basket, volley, rugby and tchoukball. In the area of Bosco Albergati have been created 14 football pitches, 2 volley, 2 basket and 1 for rugby, cricket and tchoukball.

Have been formed 28 football rounds, each one with 6 teams. Mondiali Antirazzisti are overall individual and collective stories, linked together by social engagement through sport and football.

There is the team of Italian player Union, with Damiano Tommasi. The team of street lawyers of Bologna, the Liberi Nantes from Rome, composed by asylum seekers. There will be Polisportiva Zelig of Reggio Emilia, mixed team with men and women; Mufakose, Zimbawe community from Newport; Real San Lazzao with educators and kids from13 to 21 years old from Tunisia, Morocco, Ukraine, Kossovo, Pakistan; Armata Rozza International from Varese, made by a very mixed group of citizens: plumbers , farmers , pensioners , cooks , students , carpenters .

Voices from Africa: composed by citizens and migrants from Casale Monferrato; Stella Alpina from Trento, composed by guys from different culture with an exceptional testimonial, Tommaso Iori, president of Uisp Trento, leaved by bike from his town to arrive in Castelfranco Emilia, touching also Rome.

And then Ultras groups and supporters against racism: Livorno Curva Sud, LazioNet, Bar Gianni, with ultras from Bologna and Sampdoria. From abroad a lot of multicultural teams: Zwote from Germany – Enger, winner of Mondiali Antirazzisti Cup. And antiracist international supporter as Ultras Marseille and Borussia Dortmund ones. From United Kingdom the Regent’s Park FC, playing in female football championship of London. Team is composed by women from different origins: Germany, Spain, United Kingdom, Australia, India, Italy, Nederland, Greece, Iran.

Mondiali Antirazzisti are organised by Uisp, in collaboration with Città degli Alberi, Matteo Bagnaresi Foundation, Rete Fare – Football against racism in Europe, with the support of Regione Emilia Romagna, Castelfranco Emilia municipality, Aic Italian Football players, Hera group and Cgil.
