Project Name: SAVE – Sport Against Violence in Europe

Summary SAVE is a transnational initiative co-funded by the European Union through the “Europe for Citizens” programme. Led by UISP Comitato Territoriale Cirié Settimo Chivasso, the project promotes active European citizenship and uses amateur sport as a vehicle for preventing violence, fostering inclusion, and empowering disadvantaged youth. Through workshops, tournaments, intercultural exchange, and civic education, SAVE builds lasting relationships among young people and NGOs from Bulgaria, Romania, and Italy, laying the groundwork for future shared initiatives.

Legacy & Impact SAVE demonstrated that amateur sport can be a powerful platform to foster respect, teamwork, and European identity. It gave youth from diverse backgrounds the chance to express themselves, overcome stereotypes, and take part in meaningful intercultural cooperation. The project’s materials (website, CD-ROM, brochure) continue to share its practices and results, while the relationships formed among participants and partners pave the way for future collaborations in youth citizenship and violence prevention.
