Project Name: MEMTRAIN – Memory Training for Older Adults (55+) Linking Physical Exercise and Brain Training to Promote Healthy Ageing

Summary MEMTRAIN is a 24-month transnational partnership funded under Erasmus+ KA2 Adult Education, focused on promoting healthy ageing by linking physical activity with brain training for adults aged 55 and older. By combining the expertise of sports scientists, memory trainers, educators, and psychologists, the project developed a replicable training manual and YouTube channel to improve memory, mobility, and wellbeing across seven EU countries.

Main Objectives

  • Enhance physical mobility through adapted sports and gentle exercise
  • Train local professionals to deliver combined physical and cognitive workshops
  • Develop accessible online content for seniors with reduced mobility
  • Promote intergenerational solidarity, health literacy, and mental wellness
  • Provide support for disadvantaged older adults (e.g. living alone or with health issues)

Key Activities

  • Development of a comprehensive Trainer Manual with scientific chapters, memory games, adapted fitness protocols (e.g. Zumba, Judo, APA)
  • Creation of YouTube videos for seniors and trainers to visualize training sequences
