GUARD 2 – Growing Up Aware and Resilient Digitally

Project Name: GUARD 2 – Growing Up Aware and Resilient Digitally

Summary: GUARD 2 is a European project co-funded by Erasmus+ KA210-ADU, focusing on equipping socio-cultural and sports operators with the skills to recognize, prevent, and intervene against cyberbullying affecting minors during leisure time. By creating targeted training tools and a digital support platform, the initiative seeks to raise awareness and build operational capacity across Italy, Greece, and North Macedonia, with a specific focus on vulnerable age groups.

Main Objectives:

  • Train operators to identify victims and perpetrators of cyberbullying in informal contexts
  • Raise awareness and promote prevention strategies during leisure time activities
  • Focus attention on minors aged 6–18, especially girls, as vulnerable targets
  • Develop a cohesive training module and manual for use across partner countries
  • Support sustainable methods for intervention and early detection

Key Activities:

  • Focus Groups (Nov 2022 – Feb 2023): Identifying training needs among operators aged 25–45
  • Good Practice Collection (Mar – Aug 2023): Analysis of anti-cyberbullying strategies from local contexts
  • Training Module Development (Sept – Dec 2023): Creation and testing of practical learning content
  • Evaluation Phase (Dec 2023 – Mar 2024): Assessment of training impact using shared indicators
  • Dissemination Actions (Sept 2023 – Mar 2024): Final conference, content distribution, media materials
  • Digital Platform: Open-access tools for operators (website, Facebook page, YouTube channel)

Project Partners:

  • UISP Comitato Territoriale Ciriè Settimo Chivasso – Coordinator
  • CNR IRCRES – Research & evaluation partner
  • Freedom Gate Greece – National implementation partner
  • Youth Council Next Generation – Outreach and experimentation partner

Implementation Period:

  • Start Date: 1st September 2022
  • End Date: 31st March 2024
  • Duration: 18 months

Funding & Support:

  • Co-funded by the European Union under Erasmus+ KA210 Small Scale Partnerships in Adult Education
  • Includes budget allocations per partner for activity coordination (e.g. €1,000 for focus groups)
  • Supported by local observers, facilitators, and transnational collaboration

Legacy & Impact: GUARD 2 provides a replicable training protocol and intervention toolkit for educators and sports professionals working with youth. By embedding awareness and prevention strategies directly into leisure-time environments, the project empowers local communities to actively reduce cyberbullying risks and support vulnerable children.
