What's Uisp?
Uisp (Italian Association of Sport For All) is an association of sport for all: its aim is to spread the right to sport to all citizens. Sport for all is a good concerning health, quality of life, education and sociality; for these peculiarity it’s deserving of recognition and public protection.
Sport for all is a right, an immediate reference to a new quality of life that has to be affirmed day by day, both in traditional sports facilities and in natural environment. Sport for all interprets a new right to citizenship, belongs to the “policies of life” and, also experimenting several activities of competitive sport, finds its roots in some values that have not references in the ethics of results, pertaining to the highlighting top level sport.
Sportforall, a unique word, new, existing in the reality but not yet in the dictionary. We chose this identity, we chose to put in centre of Uisp the people, the citizen, women and men of all ages, everyone with his rights, motivations, differences that have to be recognized and valorised: different ages, abilities, disabilities, sexual differences, different motivations to sport practice.
The only difference we fight is the one that comes from social inequality, from the lack of equal opportunities. Sportforall means the need to write again our sports proposal, to reshape the activities of every disciplines “customised on you”, highlighting the profile of Uisp: the culture of rights, environment, solidarity.
WHAT WE DO?
Our mission is to demonstrate that “an other sport is possible”. That means not only to develop cultural innovation, but also to concretely translate it in a technical, methodological and organizational experimentation. Uisp Leagues and Areas made own these strategical options and reinforced them. Sport for all potentially spread to all citizens the offer of physical practice and a concrete research and experimentation of a better quality of life. Sport for all concerns first of all health and physical wellness, privileges outdoor practice, attempts to elaborate experiences exploiting sweet and not wasting energies; it utilizes poor and versatile facilities; it affirms a relationship with the time result and with the technical measurement not connected to the record’s duress: it levers on a need of feelings mortified by routine.
Uisp, through its initiatives, has the aim to valorise the different faces of sport, from the competitive (with a particular attention to the world of amateurs) to the spectacular one, from the instrumental (sport for health, wellness, environment) to the expressive one (individual or collective practices out of structured sports facilities). The great events of Uisp sport for all take place on spring since the early 80s: Vivicittà, Giocagin, Bicincittà, Summerbasket, Neveuisp. These events involve at the same time dozens of italian and foreign cities and they see Uisp works side by side with important Italian and international associations: from Unicef to WWF, from Legambiente to Libera, from Action Aid to Save the Children.
Uisp is trying to deepen and to make know the different faces of “sport for all” and of its “social value”. The topic of solidarity, focused on inclusion and socialization, becomes the pillar of one of the several projects that Uisp actives on the field of denied rights, like projects for migrants. Considering the social-cultural value of sport, the not-verbal language can become a place of meeting between different languages, cultures and ideologies. The aim is to arrive to an awareness of public opinion, and to a pacific cohabitation of people with different cultures through the use of sport as a mean of socializing.

Uisp is composed by 1.335.000 individual associated, 18.020046 sports clubs (2015 memberships drive data) We are present in all regions, provinces and in many cities: 157 local committees and 25 Leagues and Areas of activity.
