OBJECTIVES:

The overall objective of the project is to improve the mental health and well-being of citizens with a focus on disadvantaged target groups in Europe by repurposing and further developing the ABC model of mental health.

Therefore it proposes to:

  • Build a model and define tools at European level for the implementation of the ABC of mental health.
  • Develop the capacities of partners and stakeholders to promote the message of the ABC model for mental health.
  • Test the ABC model for mental health in 5 European countries.
  • Promote the knowledge of the ABC model for mental health by involving more countries and organizations for its implementation and development

 

PROJECT ACTIONS:

  • Implementation of the ABC of Mental Health handbook
  • Implementation of national workshops useful for building partnerships with stakeholders
  • Implementation of pilot activities (training and capacity building of local associations and partners, implementation and testing of ABC tools with target groups)
  • Production of the ABC of Mental Health
  • Online and offline marketing and production of campaign materials, website, articles and blog posts

Presentation of the project: in its development phases in the dissemination event ABC in connection with the MOVE CONGRESS 2025 (The ABC of mental health: policy debates, exchanges with experts, masterclasses, learning workshops based on the motor experiences and in active relational contexts of the participants)

 

UISP ROLE:

  • Development of a national implementation plan and partner group. DGI Copenhagen will facilitate the process, but all partners will function as a peer group, to ensure that the best possible expertise is available to develop and adapt national implementation plans.
  • Pilot activities (training and capacity building of local associations and partners, distribution and testing of ABC tools with target populations). Pilot activities will follow the framework of the ABCs of Mental Health manual. The mix is ​​determined locally and according to the target group and observed needs, but always with intensity, presence and coherence, according to the ABCs of Mental Health principles.

National partners coordinate the implementation of the pilot in their respective countries with the identified national partners and collect regular feedback from participants and stakeholders during the pilot actions to enhance learning and gather insights for later scaling up the ABC of Mental Health activities.

 

RESULTS:  

  • Involvement of at least three regional level geographical areas on the territory
  • Involvement of at least 3 experiences of development of proposals for experimentation, research, promotion for each region, strengthening of the skills of operators in the field of prevention of discomfort and research of new balances of physical and mental health throughout the national territory, through specific initiatives to disseminate the contents of the project, structuring of methodologies for activating sports and non-sports groups to strengthen the skills of community animation and development of significant relationships inside and outside the association, promoting a culture of solidarity, listening, and active participation in community life.
