ABSTRACT:

Financed by Sport e Salute spa, the project "Who plays first base?" is aimed at boys, girls and pre-adolescents (from 3 to 14 years of age) to offer opportunities for free sports practice aimed at developing basic motor skills (such as swimming, running and functional gymnastics skills) .

 

OVERALL OBJECTIVE:

Counteract, prevent and reduce the sedentary lifestyle, obesity, isolation and psycho-social discomfort of the reference target, through the offer of opportunities for free sports practice aimed at developing basic motor skills (swimming, gymnastics and pre-athletics), on the whole national territory aimed at the youth target (children and pre-adolescents), thus contributing also to the reduction of health risks.

With reference to the offer of swimming courses, the project has the further objective of reducing the incidence of mortality from drowning, deriving from the high percentage of people in Italy (including children and pre-adolescents) who are not able to swim properly.

 

PROJECT ACTIONS:

Phase I: Start of the project

Phase II – Capacity Building: Training of sports operators and personnel in charge of project management

Phase III – Project communication and promotion

Phase IV – Sports offer:

The sports activities offered range from various disciplines, with a wide range of opportunities, and each beneficiary is guaranteed at least 2 hours of free physical activity per week for a period of no less than 6 months.

The sports proposals are calibrated and differentiated for each age group according to the following scheme:

Children 3/6 years old _________________________ GYMNASTICS courses

Children 3/6 years Children 7/10 years ____________  SWIMMING courses

Children 4/9 years old Pre-adolescents 10/14 years ___ PRE-ATHLETICS courses
