PERMANENT OBSERVATORY ON GRASSROOTS SPORT

SUMMARY:

The sports sector is characterized by a plurality of actors who, with various capacities and different scope, operate within the reference panorama: national dimension (competent government authority in matters of Sport, National Sports Federations, Sport Promotion Bodies, Associated Sports Disciplines, civil and military sports groups); regional dimension (Regional Committees of Sport Promotion Bodies, Territorial Committees of Sport and Health, etc.); micro-local dimension (Grassroots and Amateur Sport Associations, non-profit organizations, etc.) that operate throughout the national territory, in direct contact with citizens. 

Even at the level of communication and marketing, we are witnessing a fragmentation of information, further accentuated by the growing digitalization of the world of sport and of all citizens, a trend that has undergone a clear acceleration precisely during the lockdown caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. 

Therefore, the project aims to systematize and enhance, in terms of communication and promotion, what already exists and is daily achieved by the Sport Promotion Bodies and affiliated Grassroots and Amateur Sport Associations.

 

OBJECTIVES:

  • Analytically determine the weight of Sports Promotion within the Italian economic and social context.
  • Track the activities and initiatives carried out by all Sport Promotion Bodies and affiliated Grassroots and Amateur Sport Associations.
  • Promote and communicate the myriad of projects, initiatives, activities, etc. carried out by all Sport Promotion Bodies towards all reference targets.

 

PROJECT ACTIONS:

1) ESTABLISHMENT OF THE MANAGEMENT BOARD: it is the body responsible for analyzing the errors and strengths of the project development in order to identify the management strategies, corrective measures and optimization actions. For the management of the project, the Board is equipped with process and result indicators in order to share the status of the work and adopt all the useful corrective measures in relation to the identified “milestones”.

2) DETERMINE THE WEIGHT OF THE SPORTS PROMOTION OF THE INSTITUTIONS:

  • Collection and analysis of quantitative data relating to the size and activities carried out by each Sport Promotion Body, through the administration, every six months, of a short questionnaire intended for the Entities.
  • The questionnaire data concern: no. of members, no. of affiliated Grassroots and Amateur Sport Associations, no. of registered technicians, no. of associations attributable to the Sport Promotion Bodies registered in the Social Promotion Registers, no. and type of facilities managed, etc.
  • Presentation of data and numbers relating to the total number of members, the activities carried out and the consequent economic impact that they are able to generate.

3) TRACE ACTIVITIES AND INITIATIVES CARRIED OUT BY ALL SPORTS PROMOTION BODIES AND AFFILIATED GRASSROOTS AND AMATEUR SPORT ASSOCIATIONS:

  • Mapping and monitoring of the actions carried out by the Sport Promotion Bodies, in terms of projects, initiatives, events, physical activity courses, training and refresher courses, services provided, etc. for the entire sports sector and for citizens (e.g. no. national, regional, local projects/events, no. competitions organized at national, regional, local level, etc.)
  • Systematization of the plurality of actions carried out to date by each Sport Promotion Body in a single digital touch point

 4) PROMOTE THE PROJECTS CARRIED OUT BY ALL SPORTS PROMOTION BODIES

  • Communication and promotion of projects carried out by Sport Promotion Bodis in a single digital touch point capable of constituting a point of reference for the entire sports sector.
