Sustainable and responsible tourism

Sport and tourism, an increasingly winning combination, able to meet new demands of sporting practice and opportunities for recreation, knowledge of the environment, culture. The Uisp is one of the associative subjects that has favored, since its birth, this phenomenon considering it an important component of the social transformation of sport and of the right to access for all citizens to movement and sport.

Uisp links tourism with the principles of sustainability, ethics and responsibility. Analyzing instead the impact of tourism on the population, the main expression of reference is "meeting tourism", ethical and social, which lead back to the respect and protection of local cultures. This means to operate above all tourist choices, that should be shared by the indigenous peoples and should also aim at an active involvement of the locals, both for the management of tourist facilities and for the redistribution of profits generated by tourist activity. "Responsible tourism" means protecting both environmental resources and local traditions.

These are the principles that guide Uisp choices in this field: environmental sustainability, i.e. respect for the territory in the organization of sporting events, for its enjoyment also by future generations; enhancement of the territory, especially in areas of little-known interest; enhancement of the culture and traditions of the tourist areas; accessibility, involvement of facilities that offer comfort of use for all ages and disabled persons; promotion of activities and facilities that meet the economic needs of less well-off members.
